Fashion Tips - Dress Up For The Summer

Summer is notorious for being the pick up and go season, last minute weekends away or vacations that have been on the books for months. Whether you are weekending in the Hamptons or Hollywood, chances are your life is full enough that you will find yourself preparing to catch that flight at the last minute.  Don’t let yourself get caught sitting on your bed in your hotel room or cottage with a towel wrapped around you wondering what you are going to wear to that unexpected event that just cropped up.  It seems no matter how prepared (or not) that we are, we always leave something behind.  Leaving a few staples in your wardrobe can go a long way when it comes to being ready for any social situation when you are on the road.  If you are a frequent traveler, leaving a weekend bag ready with these basics will go a long way for time saving when you are going a long ways away.  Keep the weather of your destination in mind, and substitute pants for shorts, capris, or this years minis.  If your travel is work related, you will need an ideal pair of tailored pants that can be dressed up or down, a pencil skirt and jacket, and one or two crisp blouses to match.  Juicy Couture has some great skirts this year, and Roxy or Newport News are excellent choices for casual work wear.  These staples alone will start you off with four daytime work outfits off the bat.  For social occasions, leave in a one or two pairs of tapered jeans (boot cut is on the way out girls), heeled shoes or boots depending on the weather, and skimmers if you are going uber weekend.  Jeans and tops are more than just affordable at American Eagle or H & M.  Toss in a few cute tops and a must have is the cocktail dress that works for dinner or black tie. You just never know what is going to crop up.  Ralph Lauren’s spring line sports some cute strapless numbers that show off the season’s pastel and jewel tones, AND those sexy shoulders you’ve been working on all winter.  All of this should fit into one medium sized suitcase, and you are now prepared for any occasion. Don’t forget the pretty lingerie whether you are with or without male company. Those choices I will leave up to you.
