New York Fashion Week
It happened again. The first New York Fashion Week 2007 took place. Although this time there were not as many beautiful famous faces than there used to be during the last years, but the hosts, once again, managed to organize a really great fashion party. Everybody had lots of Champagne, Prosecco and sandwiches, while meeting old friends and the world famous fashion icons.
Maybe you are asking yourself “What is the New York fashion Week about?” Well, the New York Fashion Week is, like every other Fashion Week a fixed term in the fashion industry and an event for all fashion victims. Fashion Week is typically named after the host city or major commercial sponsor. This year´s New York Fashion shows were sponsored by Olympus, which is why some called it Olympus Fashion Week. It is was held so that designers and design “houses” are able to showcase their latest “collections”. The party took place in Bryant Park (42nd and Sixth, New york City), an 8-acre park, which got converted into a huge tent fashion arena.
Designerfashion.biz wants to show you this year´s New York Fashion Week highlights in a small video:
The New York Fashion Week is an excellent opportunity for American internationa designers to show off their upcoming collections. The fashion shows are often entertaining, accompanied by loud, mood-setting music and changing lighting. The press writes about and photographs the runway collections for newspapers, magazines, internet and television so the general public can see what is going on in fashion.
Fashion Week is produced by 7th on Sixth, which was originally formed by the Council of Fashion Designers of America in 1993, then acquired by IMG, which is a lifestyle and sports marketing and management firm, in the year 2001.
