Maria Mahlmann
The German Fashion Designer Maria Mahlmann was born in Hamburg/ Germany. After studiying fashion design, she started designing in the Paris Haute Couture Scene in the 70´s. During these days she also worked as an illustrator for “Madame Figaro“.
Later, when she lived in Berlin/ Germany, Maria Mahlmann developed a “last-minute fashion”. She recycled old cloth, tulle and mesh. Her feminin dresses are very lively, lightly and airy. Maria Mahlmann produces fashion which is just as full of spirits as she is herself. She produces on a “no budget” level and sells the finest seamlessly fashion there is.
Maria Mahlmann stands for abstract constructivism like no other fashion designer. In 2006 she won the 6 th “hamburgunddesign” (Hamburg and Design) price.
In 2005 she released a book full of beautiful fashion illustrations. It´s called “Modeimpressionen” (Fashion Impressions). It was published by Schmidt Hermann Publishing, is 160 pages strong and written in german. You can buy the book here: Modeimpressionen by Maria Mahlmann
